Sart-up video creation company Drop Production was feeling the pressure from the competition. By offering cheaper video ad creation packages for the ecommerce space, their competitors were taking a bigger share of the local market. Drop hired me to help differentiate themselves, and therefore avoid racing their competitors to the bottom. They needed a dialogue that could explain what they offer, who can benefit from it, and what makes them unique - all in under 2 mins!
The final product:
I had worked with Drop Production on a number of scripts for eCommerce video ads previously, so I had a rich understanding of what they did before scriptwriting for their sales video commenced. What made them stand out to me was how practical they were with filming; paring down all the unnecessary components of video production so that the video content focuses on the product as much as possible, whilst still aiming to tell a story or set the scene for the product (very much in the style of the Harmon Brothers). Their competitors seemed to lack this creative flair. In the script, I positioned Drop as the antidote to Madison-avenue-style advertising, whilst still getting quality video content to attract clicks for less $$.
